M.I.A., al secolo Mathangi Arulpragasam, ha appena annunciato pochi giorni fa sulla sua pagina Facebook il lancio della sua nuova canzone chiamata “Borders”.

Conosciuta in Italia principalmente dalla comunità gay, dalle ex riot girl diventate fashionista e dagli addict di Pitchfork (il sito leggendario di musica recentemente acquistato dal gruppo Condé-Nast), qui ci sono alcune ragioni per cui la si dovrebbe conoscere immediatamente:
1. Candidata agli Oscar nella sezione miglior canzone per il brano scritto per il film di Danny Boyle “The Millionaire”
2. ha collaborato ad una capsule collection per Versus Versace (il suo senso dello stile è 100% renegade, colorato e ha molto a che fare con le sue origini dello Sri Lanka)
3. ha collaborato con Madonna, la regina del pop, nella canzone “Gimme all your luvin’”, nel 2012

MIA, born Mathangi Arulpragasam, just announced a few days ago on her facebook page the launch of her new song named Borders.
Even if she is known in Italy only by gay community, former riot girls turned into fashionista and Pitchfork addict (the legendary site of music recently bought by Condé-Nast group), here are some reasons why you should know her immediately.
She is a Best Song Academy Award nominee for her track written for Danny Boyle’s “The Millionaire” movie, a designer for Versus Versace ( her sense of style is 100% renegade, colorful and has lots to do with her Sri Lankan heritage) and she made a song with the queen of Pop, Madonna, named “Gimme all your lovin’”, in 2012.
Even if her career was definitely at a point of becoming mainstream, she refused to appear everywhere during last two years and has always been focused on her own priorities: music ( and her son).
Even if she is beautiful, the songwriter wants to be remembered for her brain and words: amongst her songs’ comments youtubers talk about politics, immigration and much more.
Her last song represents a deep reflection of what’s going on worldwide lately in terms of trends, terrorism and equal rights.
